Man is not Immortal

Gen 3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.

1 Tim 6:16 Who (Christ Jesus) ONLY hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

1 Cor 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Death is likened to Sleep

Soul

Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Two things are created here to make a soul. Notice, it does NOT say, that we have a soul, but that we are a soul.

nkind.
